Milk Industry in Pasuruan

Besides its natural tourism object, Pasuruan is also well known as Milk producer. It is located in Tutur village, Sawiran district, Pasuruan regency.

This cow cattle is managed by GKSI (Unity Of Indonesia Milk Cooperation) and become the big producer of cow milk in Indonesia. GKSI office is located in Malang regency, but its location object is located in Pasuruan regency. The cows are taking care well in order to produce qualified milk in high quantity.

Lake Grati

Lake occupies about 197 hectares area located on the way between Surabaya – Ponorogo or it takes about 90 minutes drive from Surabaya. It is located at Grati Tunon village, Grati subdistrict. It's about 16 km east of Pasuruan. The lake has mount Tengger’s beautiful scenery. According to a legend, the origin of Grati Lake resembles to the origin of Pening Lake.

It has available recreational facilities such as boats and floating fishing net pond (keramba apung) used for breeding fresh water fish such as gurami, mujair, nila merah, etc. Ranu lake produces lempuk fish (a kind of small anchovy), which only can be found in this place.

Semeru Lake

Another naturally scenic pool in Lumajang is Semeru Lake. It is Located in Nguter village, in Pasirian district, about 21 km from Lumajang. It has clear and hygienic water. Angklung

Angklung is a typical art of Banyuwangi. The players are 12 to 14 people. The musical instruments are made of bamboo. Angklung has four varieties; angklung caruk, angklung tetak, angklung paglak, and angklung blambangan.

Angklung Caruk
The word of “caruk” comes from the native Banyuwangi word that means “meeting”. Two groups meet and compete to play angklung together which is called angklung caruk. The groups play angklung together to show their ability and skill to one another and also to the spectators. There are usually three groups of spectators. One group is supportive to one angklung group and the other group is supportive to the second angklung group. The third group of spectators is neutral. As the result, the performance becomes very merry because of the tendencies of the supporters.
Angklung Tetak
The word tetak come from the language that means “guarding in the night”. Angklung tetak can be a tool that is used to help guard the night. Angklung tetak became famous in 1950. At its inception the Angklung tetak grew at the village of Glagah. In 1974, it was being perfected especially relating to its tone.
Angklung Paglak



Paglak is a simple hut which is built in the rice field or near a settlement. The paglak is built from bamboo and it is built about 10 meters above the land. So, if someone want to enter the hut, he must climb first to reach it. The function of this building is as a place to guard the rice paddy from the birds. Farmers usually take care of their rice paddy while playing the musical instrument of angklung in the paglak. Because of this, the art is called angklung paglak. A long time ago, before the harvest, the farmers organized angklung paglak performances.
Angklung Blambangan
Angklung Blambangan is an improvisation of angklung caruk. The musical instruments include the gong and a gandrung musical instrument.

Banyu Biru

Banyu Biru natural swimming pool has situated at Sumberejo village, Winongan sub district. Formerly this swimming pool has called Telaga Wilis. On Friday many visitor go there and take a bath because according to the legend, whoever takes a bath in this swimming pool will stay young.

Penataran Temple

Penataran is the largest and most important Hindu temple complex in East Java. It lies just 10 Kilometers north of Blitar on the lower slopes of Mt. Kelud. It had said that this temple was dedicated to the Siva and use for at least three hundred years, from the 12th to 15th centuries. Most of the buildings, which can be seen today, however, were constructed during Majapahit's golden century.

The layout of the temple is similar to that found in the Balinese Pura today. A number of small buildings are scattered within a sacred, walled enclosure, with the largest and most important temple at the rear of the complex, Hindu legends, among them the Ramayana epic, are carved in relief on the temple walls and terrace foundations.

Poloagung waterfall

Poloagung waterfall is located in Sukorejo village, Sumber Wringin district, about 40 km east of Bondowoso. It is near to plantation area of society around. It is a new tourist site, which was built and developed in 2003, by the Kanparsenibud (Tourism, Art and Culture Government of Bondowoso regency).

The waterfall height is about 30 meters and it has natural and beautiful scenery. There are green valleys and small meadows. It is equipped with three shelters that are positioned around the area. The visitor can reach the waterfall area, but should walk very carefully.

It is located at Tretes and belongs to Pasuruan forest range unit. It can be accessible from Surabaya for about 45 minutes drive. Watu Ulo Beach

Wau Ulo is one of the tourist sites which lies on the Indonesian ocean. There is beautiful scenery at this site and it is the perfect place to enjoy the sea. It is called "Watu Ulo" by the natives because they believe that in the past there was a snake who was becoming a spirit. After becoming a spirit, it became a stone resembling a snake, sticking into the sea with its body lying on the land. During the Japanese occupation, the Japanese soldiers made fortresses which were used for fortifying against the attacking enemies and now some of the fortresses have become tourist sites. Beside the Japanese fortress, there is also a bat cave inhabited by thousands of bats. The visitors can cross the sandy shore to get to the cave. The lonely cave is often used for meditation by visitors. However tourists should remember that the cave is 100m in depth. To get there, the visitors can use public transportation or hire a rental car. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes from the downtown of Jember.

Tape Bondowoso

Bondowoso is well known / famous as Tape City (Kota Tape). "Tape" is a typical traditional food from Bondowoso and it is spread in almost every area in Bondowoso district. This food can be considered as a good and nutritious snack. Tape is sweet food made from slightly fermented cassava. Tape Bondowoso has a special sweet taste and cannot be imitated by other towns. Soekarno Grave

One of the tourist attractions in Blitar municipality is the tomb of Soekarno, an Indonesian proclamation reader and the first President of the Republic of Indonesia. It is located at 60 Slamet Riyadi Street, Bendogerit village, Sunan wetan district, about 2 kilometers from Blitar city.

The architectural "Joglo" dominates the tomb. It is in East Javanese style and combined with Gateway of Bentar. Kayangan Api

The name of “Kayangan Api” is a fire source that never die, located in the forest in Sendangharjo village, Ngasem district, a village that has about 42,29% jungle area of the village width. According to a story, Kayangan Api is a place of Mbah Kriyo Kusumo or Mpu Supa took a rest, he also known as Mbah Pandhe from Mojopahit. That’s why when the music has played and danced, every body is not allowed to accompany the ‘Waranggono’. From those society story, then Kayangan Api that located about 25 km of Bojonegoro city, placed as the nature tourism object and placed to held an important that is the anniversary of Bojonegoro regency ceremony, together purify (Ruwatan Massal), and “Wisuda Waranggono” (Waranggono graduated).
